Thank you for taking the time to review the emerging proposals from Barratt Redrow and David Wilson Homes for a landscape-led new neighbourhood at Blood’s Hill, Kirby Muxloe. The proposed scheme as been sensitively designed and shaped by existing constraints to deliver a development that will have a number of key benefits, including:

  • The provision of much-needed high-quality market and affordable homes to address the significant current shortfall in housing delivery in Blaby District.
  • The new neighbourhood will feature beautifully crafted homes from Redrow, with designs inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.
  • There will also be range of homes from five-star homebuilder, David Wilson Homes, offering a range of homes thoughtfully designed and made for modern family living.
  • The housing mix will include a significant proportion of bungalows and accessible homes designed to adapt to the requirements of residents with mobility needs.
  • The provision of high-quality green infrastructure forms a key element, with extensive new public open space proposed to deliver a range of outdoor recreational opportunities on land previously inaccessible to the public.
  • Existing natural landscape buffers including mature trees and hedgerows will be retained and enhanced with additional planting to significantly increase tree cover across the site and support a biodiversity net gain.
  • The proposals will stimulate the local economy through both the construction itself within local supply chains, as well as that of future residents on local services.
  • Significant investment to support and expand key local services will be generated by the proposed development.
